Q: What's the point of this here them thar site?
A: Revolutionaryspacecowgirl documents my anime preferences for my own personal information and enjoyment. It also gets the word out on yet another beloved hobby of mine (that of anime) using the medium of another beloved hobby of mine (that of web design). Color me hobbyist. But only if you must.

Q: What does revolutionaryspacecowgirl mean?
A: It's a self-reflective title combining two stock phrases from my two most favorite anime series: Shoujo Kakumei Utena, which translates to "Revolutionary Girl Utena," and Cowboy Bebop, whose running catch phrase is, "See you, space cowboy." And while I may well grow up to be a revolutionary and space-bound cowperson, I will certainly never be a space cowboy. I like titles on a whim. I also like titles with twenty-five letters in them.

Q: I mean, how long of a title do you really need, you know?
A: Bite me.

Q: Well, that was uncalled for.
A: Yes, but it wasn't long.

Q: How did you first get into anime?
A: In the rosy days of my youth, when I was but a tiny person, I would occasionally catch a glimpse of some misty-toned BSSM manga pictures here and there. Of course, I'd subsequently wonder what those pictures were and what story they were meant to tell. Many years later, a collegiate friend introduced me to the Evangelion movie, which, of course, I found to be absolutely insane. I began thirsting for more of this fascinating cultural art called anime. From thereon in, many fruitless Blockbuster forays, comic book store miracles, and particularly the web's many anime infocentricities fed into my anime searches, findings, and artistic bents. And thus a new Christa Obsession was born!

Q: Dubs or subs?
A: Whenever possible, I opt for the original cast . . . which means that I am a subber by choice. In my opinion, dubs never fully capture an anime series' original intent . . . which is really just a nice way of saying, "Yeah, most dubs suck." Perhaps it's due to the different methods American companies use for recording English versions, perhaps it's due to poor casting choices, perhaps it's due to the constant "Americanization" of other cultural staples. (Double cheeseburgers on Pokemon, anyone?) In any case, I'd rather read the subtitles.

Q: What's up with the layout?
A: Version 2.0 features Melfina from Outlaw Star. (Brushes courtesy Relique.) While Melfina does not at first appear to be revolutionary, she is ultimately powerful enough to be connected to incredible cosmic forces within the series. Mel is very powerful, charming, and one of my favorites. She has questions, she is beautiful without thinking and simple without knowing, and most importantly, her heart is strong, in the right place, and valued at the same level as her thoughts. That's price beyond rubies for me. What could be better?

Q: Chocolate is better.
A: Only in person.

Q: So like, who do you think you are?
A: I'm Christa. I come from a faraway land of magic and enchantment and daily grape feedings on the dot of three. I am a girl. I go to college. I am in love with the arts, words, and web design. I sing a lot. I laugh a lot. I write constantly. I like chocolate. And obviously, I love anime.
